MTV VMAs MVP? The LBD.
The problem: your customers’ GNO social calendar is fully booked, and providing a new frock for every occasion seems almost impossible. Perish the thought Halloween and Christmas is around the corner. The quick fix solution? The classic LBD of course. The little black dress became the MTV Video Music Awards’ most valuable (and unexpected) player as the night’s infamous OMG red carpet turned its head on the Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke shock factor for the more subtle Audrey Hepburn approach, which we believe is sexier – you can put your tongue away now Miley.
Britney Spears made yet another comeback and faced yet another online backlash, as the star was accused of lip-synching her new single Make Me, but what overshadowed the Twitter wars (and can we get away with saying Spears’ performance?) was her sexy black cutout dress that had the paparazzi screaming “gimme more!”
“Britney I’mma let you finish,” Kim Kardashian did not say; as the star, never to let anyone steal her limelight, arrived at the VMAs 2016 in a jaw-dropping sheer black dress accompanied with wet look hair and husband Kanye West. The reality TV queen shown off her impressive post-baby body proving she is the MTV milf, cue the Fergie song.
In perfect tune, Fifth Harmony proved they still have the X-Factor wearing in-sync black dresses showcasing the what’s what of AW16 trends. Lauren and Normandi opted for the floor length high neck, Dinah chose peekaboo cutouts, Ally presented her curves in fishnet, and stealing the show was Camila Cabello’s velvet asymmetric choker neck dress. Work it!
